Fondly remembered as the Princess of Sampaguita Pictures in the 1960’s, who played her first-starring role in Ulilang Anghel, Rosemarie Sonora was launched with nine other promising starlets as Stars ’66 (including Gina Pareño, Shirley Moreno, Blanca Gomez and the late Loretta Marquez; and the Rodriguez brothers Ramil and Pepito, Bert Leroy Jr., and the late Dindo Fernando and Edgar Salcedo), the predecessors of the ’80s’ Regal Babies, the ’90s’ Star Circle and the New Millennium’s StarStrucks.
Rosemarie together with sister Susan Roces are long time family friends and were product endorsers of my father Ceferino’s Meg’s shoes in the 1950’s and 60’s. We got together for lunch reminiscing the good old times with my aunt Virgie yesterday at Gloria Maris Greenhills and dropped by Shūbizz boutique at The Shops.
