Miss Figlia for Miss World!

   
    This year, the coronation of the next Miss World will be held in Sanya, China. A total of 81 beauties will battle for their rights to the crown. Miss World isn't just all about beauty. It is about demonstrating one's intelligence, class, and wit while raising awareness for humanitarian causes.

   When the candidates arrived in Sanya, China they were warmly welcomed. Sanya even had their roads closed just for the Miss World parade. Thousands of citizens woke up early just to come and support the candidates.

   Representing the Philippines and succeeding miss Valerie Weigmann, is Miss Hillarie Parungao a 24-year old Filipino-Chinese Nueva Viscayan and currently, Miss Figlia. Here we see miss Hillarie during the Welcome Ceremony being greeted by adorable kids.

    Looking lovely as ever Hillarie poses as she completes her performance during the Dances of the World segment.

    Also, here are some snippets of Hillarie during her Miss World experiences so far to get a glimpse of what's currently happening over there. From participating in the Orchid fashion show, to a luxurious dinner cruise and during the sport's challenge it has been quite a week for the contestants.

BALI, Indonesia—Miss Philippines, Megan Young, was crowned Miss World in a glittering finale on the Indonesian resort island of Bali on Saturday.

“I promise to be the best Miss World ever,” Young, 23, said after winning the 63rd annual event, as a large number of Filipino fans who traveled with her celebrated by jumping and waving the country’s flag.

“Salamat sa mga kababayan ko. Mahal na mahal ko kayo (Thanks to my compatriots. I love you very much),” said the teary-eyed actress after she was crowned on Hindu-majority Bali at the end of a three-week contest.

Philippines’ first

Young, wearing a pearl white gown, bested 126 beauty queens from around the world to become the first Filipina to win the coveted title in a contest broadcast to more than 180 countries worldwide.

Clear favorite

She was a clear favorite in the 2013 Miss World Philippines pageant and bested 25 other contestants in the finale held Aug. 18 at the Solaire Resort and Casino.

In the national tilt, the Olongapo-based Young also bagged the lion’s share of special awards—Best in Fashion Runway, Miss Sports by Fila, Miss Reducin, Miss Olay, Miss Laguna, Miss Bold and Glamorous by Revlon, Miss Figlia, Miss Bench Body, Miss Slimmers World and Miss Solaire Resort and Casino.
